England U15 Girls Football Team

In the Easter holidays 15 young girls and I travelled to Holland where we would later represent England U15 girls football team. The flight was one and a half hours long and after checking out of the airport, we were greeted by rain and wind.

The first two days were hard training work full of tactics and game analysis, so we would get to know the Dutch game and what their strengths were. On the third day the team was announced and I was wearing the number four shirt and playing centre midfield. I was very nervous as I was only thirteen and everyone else was at least fourteen, which meant a physical difference. The game was very tough and very tiring, but we all played very well. The game finished 3-0 to Holland, which was a disappointment, but we were happy with how we played overall.

We then had one day to correct our mistakes and take on the same Holland team in the stadium which seated one thousand people. The team worked hard and we corrected our mistakes from the match the day before. Again the team was announced and I was yet again playing the number four role in centre midfield. This game was very strenuous, but after some inspirational words from our team coach I felt ready to take on the 11-a-side Holland team. Even though we lost this game, we had corrected the mistakes which we had made the game before, and the one goal they scored was very good.

I am very proud to have four England caps now, and I hope that in the future I will improve and become even better.
