Parent Teacher Association
The PTA has changed from a PTA to an Association of Friends of the School with a new constitution. The constitution was accepted at the Annual General Meeting on Tuesday 02 October 2012. Please click here to view the constitution. The AFS hope to update the remainder of these pages in the future.
King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls Parent Teacher Association has three main aims as defined by its constitution.
- To advance the education of pupils of the school by providing funds and facilities for the school which might not normally be provided.
- To foster the relationships between staff, parents, pupils and any others associated with the school.
- To support the school in any appropriate manner.
All parents/guardians automatically become members of the PTA on their daughters joining the school and there are several practical ways for them to support the PTA.
Firstly, the PTA constantly needs new committee members to replace those whose daughters leave the school or who stand down. There are approximately four to six events each school year where the PTA requires parental assistance such as car park marshalling, serving refreshments or simply providing a parental presence at a disco. Additionally, the PTA holds three or four committee meeting per school year as well as an AGM.
The second way parents can help is by becoming a volunteer. All new parents are given an opportunity to complete a PTA volunteer form which provides details which can be held on file and be contacted as and when required.
Thirdly, the PTA run a 100 Club which is their main income. All new parents are given an opportunity of joining the 100 Club by completing the requisite form and specifying the number of units required at £1 per calendar month(or £12 per annum). Each number they are allocated goes into a monthly draw with a £50 first prize and two prizes of £20.
For more information about the PTA and its work please contact the school in the first instance.
