Chemistry in Years 7 and 8  

Pupils in Year 7 and 8 are taught topics in Chemistry as part of a general Science course covering the National Curriculum for Science, including aspects of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

In Y7 the Chemistry topics taught are

• Acids and Alkalis
• Simple Chemical reactions
• Particle model
• Solutions

In Year 8 the Chemistry topics taught are

• Elements, Compounds and Mixtures
• Reactions of metals
• Patterns of reactivity
• Environmental Chemistry
