Whole school anniversary trip to alton towers

What a great way to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the school! It was quite an interesting sight on the morning of the Alton Towers visit. About 20 coaches milled around the school and teachers in fluorescent yellow jackets guided us to the right places at 8.00 in the morning. The event that the whole school had been looking forward to for at least three weeks - if not longer - was finnaly here. And it really did live up to expectations. Arriving at Alton Towers two hours later, a mass of excited Camp Hillians descended on to the park. Students and staff (well, most...) looked around to see which rides they dared brave.

There was the fastest ride in Europe - Rita Queen of Speed; or the one that makes you feel - so I've heard - like you're 'flying' - Air; or the Flume, which soaks you completely and causes endless screams (myself included) when a huge duck suddenly appears from the shadows. Everyone had a great time - whether taking the plunge on 'Oblivion' or sticking to the Merry-go-Round. As you walked round the park, it was never too long before you bumped into another Camp Hillian... some drenched after the water sides, other dazed after more scary rides. I think it's safe to say that we all had a really fantastic time and it's not something any of us will forget in a hurry. We are so grateful to all the staff who made it possible - thank you!
