macmillan coffee morning

Once again this year our sixth form sprang into action to raise money for the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning. The event has become a regular fixture of the school year, helping to raise money and a few mid-morning smiles. Friday 30th September was the date for this year's effort and, as usual, the gym was full of hungry eyes and empty stomachs as the recess bell rang. The focus in main school is very much more on the cake than the coffee, though all proceeds were still going to a very good cause. Macmillan is a UK-based cancer charity that raises money to help support those affected by cancer, either themselves or amongst relations, in numerous ways. The school is pleased to continue to contribute to their work and this year raised £1,260.00, which went towards Macmillan's grand total of over £4 million they raise from coffee mornings across the country.
