It was with fear and trepidation that we set off on two Saturdays in March with an aim to sell our products to the
public. We all arrived at the Bullring and Touchwood in Birmingham and Solihull town centres ready to brave
awkward customers, annoying customers or in some cases – no customers!
Camp Hill Girls brought a whole range of products including, personalised photo frames, phone charms,
jewellery, personalised mugs and phone socks. Needless to say we also brought flair and a certain je ne sais quoi
to the proceedings.
Regardless of aching feet, aching cheekbones (from smiling all day) and aching egos we all had a wonderful day.
Despite the hardships, we all sold many products and came out with a tidy profit. More importantly, we learnt
valuable lessons from the importance of confidence and self belief to great selling techniques to attracting
customers to the Camp Hill stalls.
We have held a Christmas Fair and a Mother’s Day Craft Fair within school. Once again, these were both very
successful events but couldn’t have taken place without Mrs. Widger.
On behalf of all the girls who took part, I would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs. Widger, without whom
none of this would have been possible. She accompanied us all day at the Bullring and Touchwood, kept our
spirits high and kept us well fed with an endless supply of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. She has supported us
throughout the whole process of Young Enterprise and we appreciate all that she has done for us. In addition,
we’d also like to thank many other members of staff who came to see us at the Bullring and who purchased our
products there as well as in school.
