shakespeare schools festival

Students from Years 8, 9 and 10 have been working very hard towards staging a performance of Shakespeare’s The Tempest at Birmingham Old Rep Theatre. This is Camp Hill’s first involvement in what has become a nationwide event. Not only does the festival encourage students to explore and understand the plays of Shakespeare, it also affords them a rare opportunity to present their work in a professional venue. If all this wasn’t enough, the cast recently enjoyed an afternoon workshop with members of the National Youth Theatre.

The final performance of the show will be at The Old Rep on November 1 st.. The show begins at 7.00pm. Tickets are available from the Old Rep Box Office at £6.00 and £8.00. Sorry for the cliché but do book early to avoid disappointment as we are sharing the event with other schools.

This really will be a fantastic opportunity to see all of the hard work that has gone into making this play, besides the chance to see three other abridged Shakespeare plays performed by other schools in the area.
