The transition to KS3 can be both an exciting
event and a challenge.
At Camp Hill we aim to ensure every student has the chance to maximise
their potential and lay the foundations for future learning. In
Year 7 and 8 pupils are encouraged to discover independence and
become part of the school community. They have the opportunity to
meet outside agencies to consider their role as citizens, and other
speakers who focus on different ways of learning and revising. There
are a variety of trips both locally and further a field and Year
8 culminates with an Activity based residential.
We always seek to keep the communication channels between home
and school open. Lower School considers itself approachable to both
parents and students alike. Our team has a strong vision both for
the academic as well as pastoral welfare of the pupils.
Year 9
Year 9 is the year of SATs and GCSE choices.
Booster classes are delivered in English and Science for girls who
will benefit from smaller groups and additional teaching.
The girls receive advice and guidance through the PHSE programme
on preparing for exams and revision techniques with a view to keeping
these exams in perspective. They also have a series of Careers Education
lessons that prepare them for making choices at GCSE. They have
the chance through our Careers Afternoon to meet with a wide-range
of professionals and talk with them about their careers.
The PHSE programme in Year 9 has a strong focus on Health Education
and topics include Drugs Awareness, Eating Disorders, and Sex Education.
Citizenship topics are also covered with Year 9 pupils gaining greater
insight into the role and workings of government.
