Work Experience
All of our students have the opportunity to undertake Work Experience in Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 and really benefit from these opportunities to develop their skills for the world of work. ALL students should ensure that they complete at least one face-to-face placement during their time with us. We also value the benefits of Virtual Work Experience. We will continue to promote both types of experiences as part of our Work Experience offer going forwards.
The following websites are particularly useful for students seeking Virtual Work Experience Opportunities.
- Springpod
- https://www.futuresforall.org/
- Pathway CTM
- Medicmentor (also dentists, vets)
- Allied healthcare mentor
- Brighton and Sussex Medical School Virtual Work Experience
An updated work experience programme has been introduced so that students in Years 11-13 will have had the opportunity to undertake two work experience placements in their final three years with us.
- Year 11 students are asked to undertake a minimum of 5 days of work experience in the first 3 weeks of July;
- Year 12 complete their work experience during enrichment week at the end of June/beginning of July, as well as at other times during the week if they have non-contact time; and
- Year 13 students will be able to undertake placements in non-contact time.
